Windows XP Setup
Instructions
-
Click
the
button and select Control Panel.

Click
on Network and Internet Connections.
-
Click
on Internet Options.
-
Now
click on the Connections tab. you'll see a window like this

Click
on the setup button. The New Connection Wizard appears. Click Next.
-
On
the next screen, click Connect to the Internet, and then click next.
-
On
the next screen, click Set up my connection manually, and then click
next.
-
On
the next screen, click the first option, Connect using a dial-up modem,
then click next.
-
On
the next screen, you will be asked for a name for the connection.
Type Absolute Internet, and then click next.
-
Next,
you will be asked for the Absolute Internet dial-up phone number.
Type in the box 768-2925, and then click next.

Next,
type your username and password in the appropriate boxes, and then
click next.
-
On
the last screen of the New Connection Wizard, check the box marked
Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop then click Finish.

Double-click
the Absolute Internet connection icon on the desktop.

Click
the Dial button to connect to Absolute Internet.

Your
modem should start making noises. Then you get a series of pop-up
windows with the connection status. Just wait for it to connect.

Once
you're connected, you will have a status icon in the lower right-hand
corner of your screen.

Now
you can open your web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.),
email client (Outlook, Eudora, etc.), or ftp program (WS-FTP).

To
disconnect, double click on the status icon in the lower right-hand
corner or the Remote Access icon, click on disconnect.
