Having Problems Staying Connected?

Below are some suggestions for obtaining a better connection.

Too many phones on the line. Disconnect any extra phones that you may have on the line that your computer is dialing on, for it will drop the integrity of your speed and connection.

Use Data Quality Cabling - When installing telephone wire between the phone company´s terminator block and your phone jack inside the house, be sure to use data-quality, twisted pair wire. Also, make sure you disconnect any extra wire connected to the phone line which can bring down the speed and integrity of the connection.

Your phone may have static or noise on the line. (Even though you can't hear it, it may still be there.) Call your local phone company and ask them to check the phone line for noise or problems.

Do you have a brand name modem? Brand name modems such as US Robotics (Now 3Com), are the best in the industry. If you have an old computer, consider getting a new modem. Older modems can have problems working on phone lines. The newer ones will give you better speed and stability.
